When we connect back to you to resolve issues remotely, we do require payment up front. The safest and securest method is to pre-buy using PayPal. PayPal is secure, safe and your credit card information remains with them. All of our "Buy Now" buttons are linked directly to PayPal. WHAT IS REMOTE SUPPORT?
Remote Support allows us to support any PC on the internet through firewalls and NAT routers. We provide full on-demand remote control help desk support, transfer files, chat, re-boot & auto-reconnect and control of your workstation in real-time without pre-installing software on your computer. We can even reboot the computer into "Safe Mode" to deal with system issues.
HOW IS THIS ACCOMPLISHED?
When asked, you simply go to www.pc-care.ca and on left side of the main page, there is a spot to enter in a 6-digit ID number. This number will be provided when you call 250-562-2273 (Our Support Line). After entering the number, you will be prompted to download a file - The file is about 800k in size and you will need to run it when prompted. This will connect back to our support centre using 256-bit encryption. It is completely safe and we cannot access your computer unless you initiate the session. Once the support session has ended, the software will automatically uninstall itself so you do not need to worry about it still being on your computer.
A second method we are using is to install what we refer to as a "Remote Support Calling Card" on your computer. If you purchased your computer through us, this is already installed. WHAT IS THE COST TO YOU?
There is an initial $15.00 connection fee and $1.00 per minute up to a maximum of $63.00 per hour (Including the connection fee). The $63.00 is our standard in shop labour rate. Pre-Paid service deals are listed here.
IS IT SECURE?
Once the session is complete client executable completely removes all files and programs from your pc, so you can breath easy and trust there are no "back doors". The session is secure using 256-bit encryption.
REMOTE SUPPORT CALLING CARD - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
First Download the "Remote Support Calling Card". If you are using most browsers, you can simply click on the link and then select run. If you are using Mozilla Firefox, you need to save the file, browse to the location that you saved it in and then double click on the file to install it.
- Click on "Run" when prompted.
- Click on "Next" to accept the default installation location.

- Click on "Next" on the ready to install screen.

- It will take from 5-30 seconds for the next screen to appear, just be patient. If you are connecting immediately, leave the default "Launch PC-Care Support" checked. There is no need to have it load each time you start your computer so you can leave that unchecked. Click on "Finish".

- There will be a brief pause while the program is checking for updates ... On the next screen "Connect to Remote Support", click on "Continue".

- On the next screen, enter in "Your" name, phone number and eMail address. This is so that we can see who is connecting back to our systems.

- When you click on "Connect", the program will dial back into our system, providing that we are monitoring for incoming connections. Please contact us at 250-562-2273 ahead of time to ensure that your remote support call is answered.
- For future calls, you will have a shortcut on your desktop labeled "PC-Care Support" and under "Start" - "All Programs" there is a folder named "PC-Care Support" (It may also be under "Utilities") with the same shortcut. Simply click on the shortcut to launch the program and your previously entered email, name etc will still be filled in for you.
